Colour Theory

 Light and dark
by taking away the chromatic values from any colour will show you the tonal values

Black & White are known as "monochrome"
We use a term called "contrast" to describe how light or dark something is.

Hue
When speaking about the Hue it is to discuss the colour or shade of something. When one colour shares a similar hue people describe them as different by adding words like " light blue".

Saturation
This describes how vivid a colour is and how much of the pure colour has been diluted with white or grey.

Temperature
The temperature of a colour is referring to the way one colour could be described as warm or cold by the use of a gradient.

Complementary
Complementary colours are those that compete against one another for your attention when put down for example white and black react and push out aswell as each other.
